About

Steven Fox is a CFP® professional and former Marine who founded Next Gen Financial Planning to serve clients the profession often overlooks, helping hundreds of people with their financial and life decisions. He passed Next Gen to its team in 2024 and now leads AdviceOnly, which helps advisors work on an advice-only model, without selling products or managing investments, and without having to start their own RIA.

Steven came to planning after the military and San Diego State University, wanting meaningful work, a career in finance and room for his side businesses. He credits mentors who taught him to listen first, think like a business owner and lean on community. He isn't taking new ongoing planning clients but still takes occasional small hourly projects.

He is married with two kids and likes experimenting with vegan curry recipes.
